YA FICTION (Ages 12 and up)
Snakehead, by Anthony Horowitz. The 7th book in the Alex Rider series has him
traveling to Bangkok to infiltrate a smuggling ring. Lots of action, excitement and
gadgets to be found in this page turner.
Eclipse, by Stephanie Meyer. Bella, a danger-prone woman is torn between marriage to a vampire or to a human. The location is the Pacific Northwest and trouble descends upon the vampire and werewolf clans from Seattle. Can Bell make the right choice?
YA NON-FICTION (Ages 12 and up)
Barak Obama, by Kerrily Sapet. This
is a political profile of Senator Obama who is running for president in
2008. His life history is detailed and culminates with his
presidential race platform.
Math Doesn't Suck, by
Danica McKellar. The author is a known actress and
mathematician who proceeds to rip the lid off the myth that math
"sucks". Easy to read format and simple illustrations make for a
fun but learning experience.
We now have "Playaways". What are 'Playaways" you ask?
An all-in-one MP3 player. The Playaway is a lightweight, compact,
easy-to-use MP3 player that comes with a pre loaded audio book.
The battery and headset are included just in case you do not have a
spare set of earphones. Playaway is about the size of an ipod and
you can even use it in your car radio or home stereo system. They
can be checked out for three weeks.
